Orcs and burly trolls make good candidates for awesome warriorhood. I seem to remember that dwarves use longer hafted axes for both hands.
Perhaps you'll need to invent a new race of warriors just so one of then can be cool enough to carry that axe, or maybe a huge demon could do the job.
