SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sunset in the Forbiddens

This is a landscape done with Terragen, a very misty, forbidding, murky sort of sunset. Not very friendly.

Not very friendly? I LIKE it! You'd find me there, if i could find it. But of course I'm weird like that.Well, I like the picture, myself, but I think that spot looks a little scary. 2

I guess I'm wierd too because I'd to find those hills and watch that sunset. Very bee-u-ti-ful

It's like I was walking in the mountains and I had veeery loong time to go. But that is of course good, at least with that view.. Actually the sun looks like a doorway to me.. Maybe because of the red under it. It is like a lightsource from somewhere else, lighting the dark world.

:-) Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "Do you write? That has got to be one of the most poetic comments I've ever seen. Thanks. 12"

Such beautiful use of color in all your landscapes...What is Terragen?

:-) Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "It's a really great 3D renderer- http://www.planetside.co.uk . Basically, you fiddle with the atmosphere, lighting, terrain, surfacemap, water, camera angle and height... etc, etc. Test, fiddle, adjust, test, render, redo, fiddle, adjust... it usually takes me a couple hours at least to set up a good image to be rendered."

I love the way the sun looks like its just melting into the scene *shudder* ^^

:-) Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "*grin* Yeah, I was pretty pleased with that effect!"
