I have worked in an art gallery, a library, three different computer labs, fast food, three different National Parks (there's one of them on the left there), a grocery store, a tree nursery, a warehouse, an assisted living center, a bookstore, a couple of offices, and a landscape nursery. While such a varied background usually seems to go hand in hand with being an author, I'm only an author-wanna-be. I've never had that need to write, the way I've had a need to draw. I used to get in trouble in school for drawing on my homework, and all my class notes from college are scrawled and doodled and scribbled all over. I'll draw on anything- napkins in restaurants, the jeans I'm wearing, backs of envelopes, my hand... I think I can safely say that I constantly improve, but I never perfect. I'm too busy trying new subjects and new techniques to ever become an expert at anything. 01/15/05: Uploaded: Fingernail Fairy

Guestbook for Cabbage
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 27 Nov 2000 | Michelle A. Whitham | I like your landscapes. They remind me of how I should start working on my landscape. *writes a note to herself* Keep up the good work. | |
| 12 Dec 2000 | Fritzi wirth | Hi,I like your drawings, especially the Gargoyle, but maybe you should put some colour or some shadows on your B&W pictures?Just an idea. However, your dragonfly Guy is very cool, and keep up drawing,I'd like to see more pics of you!Yeah, I know I need to work on color and shading- I've actually been getting a lot of practice in lately with colored pencils, but none of it fantasy-ish yet, sooo... | |
| 17 Dec 2000 | Lyndell Antonio Stout | Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!! May all your Fantasy wishes and SCI-FI dreams come true. | |
| 28 Mar 2001 | Kimberly E (Cadia) Rys | I have travled down that river of dought many a time and you captured it perfectly | |
| 14 Oct 2001 | Alice Hsieh (Changewinds) | Thanks for visiting my gallery, always happy to see a new face. :] A grand, fascinating assortment of jobs you've had, lots of experience. Seems you've got the doodle bug too, along with the small, and detailed! Hope to see more cool work up. Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "I hope so too. Well, really, I've been working on a lot of projects that aren't really suitable for Elfwood (not much in the fantasy realm), and once I'm done with those I hope to get more good work done." | |
| 11 Nov 2001 | Luke | WOW nice backrounds! but you need to concentrate on backrounds and less figure drawings. but still nice work Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "I'm giving it a go, but backgrounds are a lot harder! I've concentrated on the small and the detailed for so long, it's hard to go big and bold and colored and all that." | |
| 28 Nov 2001 | Trinka Gillis | Hello Jennifer! I like your drawings. Do you remember me from UAF? We were actually roommates for a week or so at that house with crazy Doug downstairs. Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "Boy, do I remember! I bet he's still living in the same place, creeping out the upstairs neighbors to this day. Good to hear from you again! " | |
| 8 Mar 2002 | Rachael M. Pascoe | Hi Jennifer, thanku 4 ur comments in my gallery. Wow u have quite a work history behind u and i bet alot of experience. It must of been amazing and very inspiring to work in a national park. lol i always used to get into trouble drawing in class too, i just couldn't concentrate until i got whatever picture i had in my head onto paper. U work is very good and i love ur paintings. Plz keep it up so i can keep coming back and enjoy it . Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "Thanks much! Yeah, working in the Parks was an amazing experience- I really miss it, quite often. There's something about getting married and having a Real Life (tm) and everything that seems to preclude running away to summer camp every year though. Sigh! " | |
| 15 Nov 2003 | Anonymous | hi jen I tought your peice mirrors was pretty incredible! I would recomend you search the web and check out Judith Currelly, she has amazing work. oh right here.. .http://www.dianefarrisgallery.com/artist/currelly/index.html Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "Very cool! I've always loved map images incorporated into artwork, and she's got a few of those, so I like them especially. Thanks for the link. " | |
| 8 Dec 2003 | Anonymous | woh. dumb name. I mean, seriously. you must really have been picked on for that. i feel for you. I mean, just add a comma.... "Jenifer, a cabbage". that must really blow. Also, can anyone enlighten me as to the meaning of this: "Avoid bad language (****, ****, ***, ***** and both the f-words, for instance, are prohibited" [bad words censored out] both f-words? theres the obvious one, of course. but whats the other??? Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "Could have been worse, when I was a kid my parents would threaten to change my name to "Hedda" when I was being snotty." | |
