SciFi and Fantasy Art: Xiocoatl

A Aztec/Mayan/Inca God character of mine, Xiocoatl. I really didn't know what he looked like -other- than he was a snake with feather wings SO...If there are any mistakes in the design, please forgive me. ^_^;;

I believe it's a fabulous depiction of the traditional feathered serpent. My question here is, 'Is he part of a club based on the meso-Americans and if so, please point it out for me!' I'm am an avid fan of anything queche and would love to be part of such an organization.

Hi.

I think you meant Quetzalcoatl Quetzal=from the Quetzal bird, bright green metallic feathers, coatl=serphant. Quetzalcoatle was actually a man with pale skin and a dark beard, "Feathered Serphant" was merely his name. But when he was portrayed as a feathered serphant he was a huge snake with a ruffle of (green quetzal colored) feathers around his neck, just under his head portion. No wings. No tufts of fur. (I DO like the eyes though.)
(Nope, Ms. Richardson didn't make him up, many of us Aztecs and other Central American cultures worship him even to this day!)

Sweet! I love the colors and the background!

Is this anything like a Quetzalcoatl (or however it's spelled)?

Quetzequatl (or however it is spelt) is in the aztec and mayan indeed the 'feathered serpent' (what cant u learn from the game 'age of empires II conquestadors expansion') its one of the mayor gods i believe... nice drawing tho

Quetzalcoatl or Quetzequatl is the mayan serpent god. the rainbow was considered the sign of this god. That is why you somtimes hear the phrase the serpent rainbow.
