SciFi and Fantasy Art: In the forest of a kitten

Chimes, lute, or flute? ...Acrylic on canvas. I'm rather happy with this picture, even if it distorts my mental image a bit. I've learned that if a picture is in any way unclear in your head, it won't be right once you put it on canvas. (or paper) ...It's a nice picture, anyway; it proves that I can be a real artist, not just another one of the useless wannabe comic artists. No reference was used, that's all from my head.

It's acrylic on canvas, my new fave medium. I'm glad someone finally said they liked it, 'cause I was getting worried that all the crappy watercolors and fast pencil sketches were cooler than my paintings. Um... I wanted to show that there was light coming through the trees, but without the dappling effect (maybe I can spiff it up in photoshop later) ...that's why the BG is so light.

Wow, that looks nice. All from your head?! Very impressive. What medium did you use for this? Anyway, good job. My only piece of advice is that the background could be a little darker, but I still love it. 2

Well, some people just are attracted to anime style drawings because it is what they are exposed to- people are shy to comment on something they do not know as much about. I know I am a terrible painter but I can draw a little. Anyway.....

Very nice, even more so if you consider Acrylic painting to be a 'new' favorite medium and not and old one. If you want to draw some more comments you could try a little photoshop magic and add a colored anime style character drawing into the foreground. I have only seen a couple try it and it was very interesting. (all electroniclly done)

Wow! That is really cool. It looks real, and mystical at the same time. I found this doing a search for "forest" because I was thinking of my RPG character, and she is a druid.
