SciFi and Fantasy Art: Diana

I've read up a little tiny bit on the Goddess Diana and know that she's the daughter of Artemis (or vise-versa?) and I've read some things on her being a moongoddess (actually, there seem to be alot of moongoddesses... I hope I'm not reading anything wrong) and she's a hunter or something... can't remember... But anyways, when I heard her name and her association with the moon, this picture came to mind so I drew it. She's sitting in a badly etched chair that's supposed to look somewhat like it's made from the same material and the surface of the moon; a little porous... actually I think it might've wound up with more of a coral-reef look, but oh well. Slowly getting it coloured on the computer. This'll be a while.

now if i remeber my roman mythology correctly, Artemis and Diana are one and the same... she was goddess of the hunt and protector of children.... but is sometimes associated with the moon... but that's not really important... this pic is really neat, I love her face, it's soo pretty!

If I remember my mythology correctly ( Forced to study roman/greek in 7th grade) I think that as said before those two were one in the same, and that Artemis ( the one I mainly studied) was the moon godess, claiming after her twin Apollo took the sun. ASOrry I sound like a teacher XP. But anyway beautiful picture. Truely lovely.

Yes, Diana and Artemis are the same person, goddess of the hunt and of the moon. Her twin brother is Apollo, god of the Sun. The Romans called her Diana, and Artemis is her Greek name. She was also called Cynthia.
