| 27 Nov 2003 | Seth karsiall | Actually, Griffins don't always have to be a mix between a bird and a lion or cat-type animal. There is a certain species of griffins that are called "griffs" where it is a griffin mixed with other creatures as well. | |
| 4 May 2004 | Arianna Felina | Aw, whatever it's called, I don't care, and neither should anyone else, because it's original and imaginative and colorful and pretty, and it's doing something OTHER than killing braincells! Wonderful job, Miss Larsen, keep it up! | |
| 3 Sep 2004 | Majik | I think it's an inspired picture and I don't care what the heck you want to call it. I tend to prefer if people stick to existing definitions if they draw something which has a definite name but all definitions are a little bit flexible. I bet it could swim at quite a pace and be manoeuverable with an orca's tail and penguin's wings. | |
| 3 Sep 2004 | Samm | I don't care what anyone says about griffins or gryphons or chimaeras or hippogriffs or hyppo-Guild-Member-snobs, YOU are the artist and YOU decide what it's called.
And it's awesome! You've created a really cool creature that I think people should appreciate no matter what its name is. Need I quote Shakespeare at you, people?
| 4 Sep 2004 | Rhia | Wait... is he about to snagthat little squiddy thing with his beak? Totally cool! | |
| 4 Sep 2004 | Rachel | Wow, I absolutely love this pic. I don't know if it would be considered a gryphin or not, but you're the artist and you get to decide. I love the way you blended the two bodies together, it looks like it should be a real kind of animal. Keep up the amazing work. | |
| 4 Sep 2004 | Amaya | Whaaa. I've never seen a hybrid penguin/whale. Haha! It looks really real! (did that make sence?) | |
| 19 Jan 2005 | Anonymous | This looks a bit like the Gannetwhale from 'The Future is Wild' series. | |
| 26 May 2006 | Heather Rae Clever | I like this, especially the way the penguin blends into the orca so well. At first I thought the frontal fins were too large, but then I realized that you probably meant for them to be proportional in the way a penguin's flippers are to a penguin's body, rather than how an orca's flippers are to an orca's body.
And it's a bit funny, the way some like to rigidly classify a creature of -fantasy-.
| 6 Jan 2007 | Casey Louise Schauer | Wow that's fantastic! The colours are just right and it blends so well. Such an original idea. I was wondering is that just pencil or is it watercolours? | |
