SciFi and Fantasy Art: Halfling Warrior- theif

This is a character portrait I did for Kevin Scheidt. I like the idea of the new halflings in the new dungeons and dragons, they are more like gypsies. I always hated the fat little hobbits, they looked like fat little kids.

The charm of hobbits and halflings is that they are the unlikeliest of heroes and all of that. That's what I love about them, and I think that's why so many people find them endearing. They ARE regular, they ARE normal, they ARE homebodies. Yet they still manage to change worlds and are made of tougher stuff inside than outside. That's their appeal. I like your idea, but sometimes, sometimes you just don't mess with certain things.

My brother has a thing for halflings and thieves, when
I showed em this picture he flipped.
Personally I thought the drawing was a little, well,
'un-hobbit like'

The halfling looks good. One of the better pictures I've seen in awhile. Though.. as for the 'a little too tall' comments, I should brush everyone up on their d&d knowledge.. It's called a "tallfellow" boys and girls. Look it up.

as far as a picture in and of itself goes i love this piece. As far as it being a halfling? WTF? cmon now seriously either the perspective is way off or that dude is like 5-6 ft tall as compared to the cats.I do not neccessarily hold to the "short fat halfling" camp but calling this guy a halfling is like calling a hill giant a kobold.Just my 2 cents

Good picture, though I like halflings chubby.

Actually, it is to size, those are Full sized (and fat) Ferrets, not cats at his feet.

Lol... his class ended up being "yes". I was having fun and new to D&D so by the time everyone was 15th level, I was a couple levels of rogue, cleric, fighter, sorcerer, shadow dancer, Druid and ranger. All about 3rd level. Needless to say, things went south when i got my wand of disentigrate (and i can't spell)
