| 1 Sep 2005 | Luule Dani Lille | I agree, it's worth mod's choice . I love it, the coloring is great! If there's anything I can think of I'm not really that into, then these are the clouds. They should look fluffier. And the light source is suspicious . But it IS great | |
| 11 Sep 2005 | Andrea Lanzoni | It would worth a mod's choice if the sword prospective wasn't a little wrong (it appears to be too close to the viewer compared to the characters). However, good work! | |
| 18 Sep 2005 | Constanza Ehrenhaus | I have to disagree with Andrea, I think the pic does deserve praise, and I don't think moderators are that picky, sometimes a piece is chosen despite some imperfections because it makes a wonderful work anyways. This one dragged my attention immediately when I saw the thumbnail and still amazed me when I saw the bigger one. | |
| 22 Sep 2005 | Igino Giordano | niiiice. Just a pity the picture is so small. It looks like a lot of work, but detail got lost due to down sizing. Elfwood is permitting 250KB images now, you should take advantage of it! I like the light warriors look btw. But I think you could have created a more appealing scene with concrete light sources and non-centered background perspective. The dark warriors pose seems a bit unreal too, in my humble opinion. See, he's struck by a broad-sword, but doesn't move an inch. Christopher 'Topher' Allen Shepard replies: "Hello Igino, I know you are a busy guy so I want to say thank you for taking the time to comment on this pic.I hoped that you would see it.This image was a lot of work, and I received some great advice from Kay Allen, and some guy named "Geos" from the Epilogue WIP forums on how to improve it.Actually, you are looking at the original maximum size that I worked with. I kept it small on purpose, working literally pixel by pixel sometimes. I could blow this up and manually sharpen some of the details though, which I should.I'm flattered that you like the Light warrior's design, both of these designs are 100% original and straight out of my head, and I'm real proud of that. The light source in this just kind of came naturally, I didn't really plan it, but once I decided that it should be coming from behind the warriors, I went with it. Its supposed to be the setting, or rising possibly on the horizon behind the mountain.AS far as perspective is concerned, well, I have been sticking with simple one point perspective for fear of messing it up with more complicated 2, and 3 point perspective. The more I study perspective, the less I fear it though. I think it will be a big part of my works in the future.I respect your opinion about the sword effects on the dark warriors body, but in my perspective, it would be possible because of how fast the swing was, and how sharp the sword is, and the fact that its a moment frozen in time, just the initial reaction in a set of frames that would ultimately show the dark warriors movement. However, I also concede that you have much more knowledge than I do in art, and I'm positive you could paint this scene even more spectacular, and I would love to see it too.All I can do is plug at long at my slugghish learning speed, and hope that one day I can catch up to artists like yourself.Lastly, I know you think this is good, because you said it looked niiice. I think that deespite its flaws, it radiates a strentgh and energy to it. I love it, I'm proud of it, and I think it is my best digital image to date. Thanks for stopping by Igino!Chris." | |
| 2 Oct 2005 | Ben R Sloan | Wow...this picture just...amazes me. I want to be able to do this! Sadly, I doubt Ill ever be able to.
Fantastic work, man. Freaking beautiful.
| 18 Nov 2005 | William A. Clayton | This is great, Christopher, and really seems more part of an animated scene than a seperate image. The scene itself, the concept, colors and textures are all in balance. I hope to see more of your work in the future. | |
| 24 Jun 2006 | Brigid Kathleen Hallissey | Chris, again you have rendered me in awe... your techniques and artistic style are evolving wonderfully. An absolutly beautiful work! | |
| 17 Oct 2006 | K. Ficarra | Sweet picture. I love the detail...though i agree, it's a bummer that its so small.
AND DEATH HAS KAMAS! not often do you come across a skeleton with kamas...
| 14 Aug 2007 | Aaron Weaver | Great job with this. I guess the one with the most might, fate points and the least number of wounds will win. | |
