SciFi and Fantasy Art: Martian Nightmare!

A lone space traveler becomes ensnared by a hostile alien creature on Mars. Things aren't looking good for the space traveler unless he can fire a few well placed laser blasts into the creatures central nervous system; otherwise, it's lunch time for the creature. ;) This was an old evolved sketch in my artbook that I thought had a nice composition to it, with a nice sense of energy and drama, not to mention I love sci-fi themes too. :) What do you think? I love the personality that the alien has--great mouth too--and the detail you've put into this. Your description reminds me of Spaceman Spiff. Oh, how I miss Calvin and Hobbs. Congrats on MOD's!
