Eyebrow colour is useually the same colour as the very roots of the hair on your head if not then a little darker, they are also wispy in that some of the skin can been seen through all but the thickest parts of the eyebrows. This man has a very large bone structure in that his eyeballs are small in comparison with his skull, thats cool it aslo gives the impression that he is very tall too, except males with large bong structures almost always have a larger more overhanging eyebrow 'ridge'and the bones in this guys forhead are quite fine. It's what makes tuff guys look tuff... mind you the impression of size here dose that quite well too.
| 25 Oct 2003 | Carina ´CeL´ Larsson | the eyes really stands out in the pic very beautiful
and I think you don´t need to brighten the left side of the face, it just shows that the light source are coming a bit on right side and above the face meaning I like it as it is
| 30 Dec 2003 | Igino | Hey Chris! Did you backup all stages of this pic? Unfortunately my cache does not support memory files over years, but I think it would be really interesting to see all the stages put together in a gif animation. If you have the files but don't know how to do it - contact me, alright?

| 11 Jan 2004 | | Nice pic just wondering way is his hair blond? | |
| 16 Jan 2004 | AlpineBob | Stefan, his mother's hair was blonde, and these traits do tend to run in families, you know. So even though his father's hair is not blond, it makes perfect sense. His father has always taken pride in his son's exploits, even though he sometimes wonders if he's actually a cuckold...
OK, so I just made that all up. Except for the genetic traits running in families part, that is. Say, what do you suppose Stefan wanted to know? Why Swedes are blond? Or does he think the 'barbarian' in the title defames blondes, and is wondering why you choose to slander that poor hair-color?
Oh, nice braids. I like the trace of a smile he has; he looks like a grimly cheerful sort.
| 18 May 2004 | Aaron Peterson | Looks cool. But where did the full upper body pic go? I kind of liked what you were doing with that one. Christopher 'Topher' Allen Shepard replies: "Hi there Aaron.I saw your comment about how you miss the full body pic of my "Northern Barbarian" image, and I want to say to you that I haven't given up on it, and that it is still on my "to do list".Also, I would like to let you know that your profound interest in that image over the years has touched me deeply, and I promise that I will finish it the way I imagined it in my mind, in all it's glory, one day.The reason why I took it down, is because it was an unfinished "sketch", and I have been trying to fill my gallery with only finished works; I want my gallery to appear more professional.I am trying to look more professional in the hopes of acquiring some commission work.Anyway, The Northern Barbarian image is a very personal one for me, and I don't want to re-submit it to Elfwood until I fully complete it; I want to do it justice. When I do complete it, I promise to email you and let you know right away.Just hang in there buddy, I will get it done eventually!Chances are that I may be able to start working on it again in a few months, as I am planning a major out-of state move that should permanently change my life for the better. This move will give me more of that all important "free-time" that an artist needs to do his work. Thanks for all of your encouragement.Sincerely,Chris Shepard (Elfwood Artist).P.S. Welcome to Elfwood!!!" | |
| 14 Jul 2004 | Lucy | He's ugly as hell and his lips are too grey.
And there ends my personal opinion. Pay it no mind. Technically, there is a lot of skill evident here- in the facial structure, in the curvatures of the hair, facial planes- whatever it is, you've got it.
| 3 Aug 2004 | The_redwizard | This guy looks a lot like the character from Drizzt series written by R.A Salvatore, Wulfgar. Wulfgar is a blonde haired blue eyed bear of a man, who is also a barbarian. From the north. Great work, it looks superb. | |
