SciFi and Fantasy Art: Chorus Immotus (Seconda Era)

After many years I come back to Elfwood with a new picture of mine. I apologize for the time of absence... it's been time of deep reflection, for me. Here's a work from my 'Seconda Era', from the times of returning to Elfwood! This picture requested hard work, since many problems occurred meanwhile... but now here it is. The 'Chorus Immotus', a concept inspiring and inspired by the magnificent music work of Marco Andrea Bona: the Demonology Suite. Feel free to contact him at www.helheimarts.com/marco (e-mail marco@helheimarts.com) to request a downloadable version of his evocative music masterpiece, completely for free, since his music it's complementary to this picture. I tried to represent a vision I had, of marble statues longing for redemption, each one living forever the natural feelings of its soul. It's the fixity of stone, living in the paradoxical dinamicity of gestures. You're entering that Purgatory, being part of the chorus the more and more you feel the rage of the angel. You'll be marble-made, so close to the stones of that valley, until the whisper of redemption shall erode the fixity of your being. Thanks to Wacom and Procreate for their efforts in making digital creativity possible! -- I tried to limit file size: please let me know if you would like to see a larger version here in Elfwood --

Truely one of a kind! It speaks volumes, in many tones, many ways.

The figure in the center, seemingly comes forth from the netherworlds to redeem those awaiting his presence.

I'm looking forward to enjoying more of your work, Christian.

This painitng is fascanating. I could sit and stare at it for hours, theres so much detail on the charaters faces and postures, there is always something new to see. The figures seem to be all showing different emotions and feelings. Strength, fear, death, mourning, pride, thoughtfulness and desire. I love how the only character to have any other colour is the central figure. His placing, and the colour that he alone beholds, shows his importance and dominance over the scene. Its a wonderful composition; the positioning and lighting- all immaculate. Very powerful piece.
