| 10 Jul 2002 | Matthew | I love the goldberry, her eyes are the most elvish ones i have seen on someone's tolkien illastrations, (and that on a chara of uncertain race!)verry cool.
I was just thinking how natural the POTTER chara are to manga/anime style, before looking at your site. I mean, how many manga male heroes are young boys with messy black hair- half the time with powers they don't know about till someone calls on them to use those powers. and is there not a whole fettish like genre of school age kids who become magical or or superheroes? think yuyu hakashow, sailor moon, tenchi, even evangelion. and harry just fits right in with that. so i was delighted with your manga rowlings. one thing though: when he does the patronis spell, he dose it with his wand extended, he sees the magical energy shoot from the end of his wand. you make it look like he did a hand gesture. interesting choice. maybey you could get bloomsbury or scholastic to commission a whole adaptation? I know JKR, would be iffy on it, because of how it might hamper other peoples visualsations of the stories, but they do have a movie out... my favorite is the cow halloween. You make some pretty good points here, mate. I'm hoping someone with a knack for essays and anthropological/asian studies will pick these up for a study.
| 15 Jul 2002 | Rosemary Jennifer Wong | hihi spiffy gallery here very nice colour work and the composition is quite nice as well (I like the one offset to the right - robin cover- composition wise...is more dynamic than the onces with figured centred in the middle of the page ) Anyhoo very detailed work nice manga style. The manga pages are pretty good too though the last one seems cluttered because you have a lot of characters and so many frames and quite a bit of text. I find that if you have a lot of characters and text, the best thing is to reduce the number of frames per page...but...that's just my personal opinion >..Yeah, you're right; even I notice how cluttered my pages are. It's cos I'm too lazy to add an extra page to 'de-clutter' the previous one. Hopefully, I've improved my composition skill, in my latest works.Golly, it's been a while since I did an art trade! | |

And now, long after the fact, I randomly come across your elfwood gallery too! Eee, neatness! Your art is really great! My fav pieces are the black and white inked art because you can see more of the detail. Keep it up! I'll be back. ^_^I hope you can see how it's proved that it's your destiny to enjoy my art.
| 21 Jun 2007 | Laura E. Birdsall | I love your LotR art! ^_^ I especially liked your representation of Goldberry. She looks so Goldberyy-ish. You're manga style reminds me a bit of Rumiko Takahashi, the artist who did Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2. | |
| 8 Nov 2007 | Nicole | I love your Goldberry, I'd also love to see an Arwen or some other Tolkien ladies done in that style | |
