SciFi and Fantasy Art: Ter'angreal

This is the Ter'angreal that the Novices go through to be Accepted, not sure if Accepted use it for becoming an Aes Sedai, but I think so. I think it's cool, even though there isn't supposed to be any watery stuff in the middle of the arches, and no little white ball.

I think it is a wonderful picture. Not quite as i imagined it, though.

What is the "Ter'angreal" any ways?

The others are right, you only have to go through it to get Accepted. Aes Sedais use the Staff of Oaths (is that what it is called in english... I'm from Sweden and sometimes names are translated funny). One thing only, the rings are after each other, not one first and then two right behind it.

I disagree with Vanduu. You're the reader/artist and it's really your decision how you see the ter'angreal. I think it's a great perseption of the Arches, and even though the ball and watery stuff isn't there in the books it's a nice addition.

I like this because I looks so peaceful and looks like it took a lot of time.

Belbjoom: it's called the Oath Rod, but you were very close. 2 *hugs*

Anduu: Two words come to mind here; namely "artistic impression". This isn't art drawn for the cover of official WoT books. If I wanted to, I could draw Moiraine in a Domani dress and Lan with glasses and "I love Linux" T-shirt, and I would be in my full right. As for the artist; The rendering is good, although you should work a little on your reflection/refractions. Few floors hold shine enough to reflect the 'marble' of the arches themselves so fully, but would perhaps reflect the archs light. Adding the 'ball' as a stronger lightsource inside the arch would be great; consider a lens flare through the watery blueishthingie. 2

I like this watery stuff AND the little white ball. I hope you don't change it. Hmm... your picture leads me into contemplation. Need to think, now. Nicely done. I am impressed.

I like your drawing, and imaginative perspective off the arches. I personally think your extremely talented because I couldn't draw or use the computer to draw to save my life!I think you should draw Mat because he's the best character!

You've got a little too much time on your hands.
