SciFi and Fantasy Art: Premotions of Doom

This is an illustration for a story I'm currently working on. These two elves, Sáhlióne (left)and Ezequeriel(right)are both part of a small border-patrol team. They've made camp for the evening and Ezequeriel has just flickered over a copper piece to Sáhl.(doing 'a penny for your thoughts-thingie')Whereas Sáhlióne reveals that he has been having premotions of doom. And he does have a gift for forseeing the future. This picture took three days to draw. I managed to put an owl carrying a rat, a squirrel, a deer, and a couple of other animals in the picture. I'm sorry to say that the quality of the pic is lousy since I wanted it to take up less space.

Wow! This is so cool! *Dances around* I've got the first, I've got the first ^_~
I love all the details and the shadings, it's awesome!

Actually, the reason I did this one is that I was looking at someone else´s pictures here on elfwood and she was brilliant with details but totally lacked shading. So I decided to practize my own shadings. I figured the best way to do that was to work in black and white only. And I´m rather proud of the outcome! And thanks for stopping by! 2"

You have alot of detail in this drawing (which I like) but still managed to keep a level of intimacy in it, with tall the animals, and the two figures that seem to be engaged in a freindly conversation. Good work!

8 Helena Zeegers replies: "Thanks! Hmm.. The details. I liked them too. But I had to downsize the file so much that alot of the details got lost. *sob* You can't even see the mouse I put on the pic. Oh well. "

Ohhhhhhhhhh the detail, i wish we could have seen this full quality, i bet its amazing! Well ,at least you can appreciate it and be proud! Especially after spending so long on it XD

12 Helena Zeegers replies: "Thanks! I am going to replace this copy with another one with better quality. As soon as my scanner stops making rude gestures and laughing sadistically at me everytime I try to use it. Oh well... 2"

It's easy to tell this had alot of hard work put into it. I think you did a great job on details and textures. Nice pen and ink style.
