SciFi and Fantasy Art: Dragon-headshot

Okay yes this is atrocious basically after doing the Bird of Paradise pic I though I had a new understanding of pastels. Yeah right, anyway I went out and bought some pastels only instead of the chalk ones I had used previously I bought these oil pastels which I'm sure you're aware are very different. So I tried to use them and well pretty much failed. I'm putting this here in the hopes that soon I'll have much better pics and you'll all be amazed at how much I've progressed. It was too big for my wittle scanner so you'll have to be satied with this squished version.

Oil pastels are tough. The hint is to color very hard so that nothing is left white. Then smear it around with your finger. If it hurts too much, get a TINY amout of baby oil on your finger and then smear. (If you use too much, it soaks through the paper and makes spots)
