SciFi and Fantasy Art: Swamp Drow

This has to be one of the VERY few pictures I've done with a background that I liked. In fact, its one of the VERY few pictures I've done with a background at all. I don't know why she's wandering around a swamp, but I'm sure my pencil had reason - something to do with wanting to draw a couple of fire-bellied swamp snakes (the colours of which were RUINED by the damn Elfwood size limitations...bah).

13 Oct 2002	Sandee Eames	Loading... But... But... The skin isn't black... Is it a cursed drow? Looks more like a silver elf.I know, I know. When I CG I usually do very dark skin on my drow. This was requested as deliberately pale with a gold skin tone and lavenderish hair. - Artist
18 Dec 2002	The_First	Loading... Hey, this is great, and there's no need to worry about the skin colour. I'm not a true D&D fanatic, but I'm sure sure there's nothing that prohibits Swamp Drows to have paler skin, they probably see less light or something!?!

17 Sep 2003	The Living End	Loading... Oooooh...very cool. It looks kinda like she's stuck in quicksand, though, which would also make for a cool picture concept (okay, I'm weird, I admit it freely). Except for the snake-things, of course which look good but would be a little out-of-place. Her expression is dead-on, for one thing: "Dangit, my boots are stuck! No, wait--I'M SINKING! CRAP! SOMEBODY THROW ME A FRICKIN' ROPE!" Hee...
