SciFi and Fantasy Art: CAST YOUR VOTE!I'll admit right away: the pose was very much inspired by a work I saw done by a fellow artist here at elfwood. I'll try to find his or her name so you can check out the rest of his/her very good art. There is a saying in french: 'L'habit ne fait pas le moine.' which means 'Clothes don't make the man.'. I'll going to have to differ for this particular work, because just by experimenting with clothes, this man can become anything. I could make him a king or other member of the nobility by giving him rich opulent clothing. I could make him a warrior by giving him a suit of armor. I could make him a priest, a worker, a scholar, a wizard...anything. I would only be restrained by my drawing ability (which is lacking when it comes to clothing). Here's where you, the viewer, come in. I want you to vote on what I will make of this fellow. The choices are: Noble, Knight, Priest, Wizard. I'll take into consideration the first 20 votes that come in (I hope to get that many). Oh, if you have any constructive (or other) comments to make, feel free to make them. | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 10 Sep 2001 | Stanton F. Fink | His pose, and demeanor practically scream for you to make him into a paladin. I also think that you should give him chainmail. It would be a shame to obscure his physique with heavier, bulkier armor. | |
| 7 Jan 2002 | Mysterious Black Cloaked Figure | I really like the muscular structure. | |
| 19 Jan 2002 | Audrey Mercier | It not too late to vote??? so i vote for the paladin, the posture and all that stuff | |
| 20 Mar 2002 | Astinex | Have you ever thought of going a little out of the norm. Instead of the typicl tank, why not give the guy a staff, cover the lower half with a flowing sash, and make him a wizard.
Regardless great work.

| 25 Apr 2002 | Beka | Well, he certainly has a paladin-ish physique... only thing is, he's an elf, and I don't imagine you see many elven paladins. Elves honor the land, not any religious figure... and I'm with Astinex. Go with something different, make the guy a buff wizard! | |
| 17 Jul 2002 | the notorious monkey | Buff wizard, nahh, paladin sounds good, chainmale plaitmale both would look good, gauntlets and grieves are a must, if you dont want to cover his face just stick the helmet in the crook of his arm, either one actually seeing as they are both in the right position, i dont know why but wizard is a bit much, they wouldnt ever get a body like that, druid maybe though, or battle wizard which i pretty much a paladin. Anyway decide yourself. | |
| 5 Oct 2002 | Caressa | hidy-ho! Me likey da'piccy!Anwat here goes -awizard and/or a priest would doubtfully have this sort of build ,pertaining to their occupations.A nobleman would be well bred and profbably weak and spoiled- not very strong from their fluffy upbringing ^-^. So ,therefore, I must vote for the nude Knight !yay Nude Knight!*cough * ahem...

| 16 Nov 2003 | Derek | I vote for the nude Paladin , it seems this is the paladin in Diablo 2. | |
| 1 Jan 2006 | Kel | He's too muscular for much else but a knight or perhaps monk | |
| 1 Jun 2008 | John "jjj" Crooker | I know, I know, elves are sopposed to be a more "medeival" thing, but the haircut just screams soldier. The physique does as well. I don’t understand why no one’s made any futuristic elves before, and I haven’t made any because my soldiers all have face masks so you wouldn’t be able to tell if it was an elf anyway. so give that man a kevlar vest, some digital cammo and an M4 Carbine or lancer or whatever the hell you want to give him (Gears of War armor would also be awesome). | |
