SciFi and Fantasy Art: Apprentice of the Autumn Spirit

She is merely an apprentice to a spirit now, but one day this mere elfling dreams of having her own time of year, maybe even her own special holiday. Until then she'll have to wear someone else's colours, at least she loved Autumn, so its not too hard. made with macromedia flash

Wow. Just wow. I'm completely dumbstruck with the coloring. I love the idea behind this too, the whole *points to title* Apprentice of the Autumn Spirit. It sounds so poetic! ;_; And the way you incorporated Japanese fashion, which you don't see very often on elves and such, fits very nicely with your coloring.

ooh! I like her kimono design!

What a beautiful kimono! You are really doing well with those hand made gradients. Very stylish pic, the background is simple but it goes so well. Only thing I miss are the eyes, you do them so beautifully.

EEK! No eyes?! Beautiful pic, I love the kimono design. Where are those eyes when you need them?

Kay, that dress is beautiful. I've always wanted a komono. You might want to add eyes next time though... it would make it look more like a person, rather than a fashion doll. No offense!! *whimpers*

interesting you should all immediately focus on the lack of eyes. I really wanted the outfit to be the centre of interest so I left off eyes so as to avoid the immediate draw they always provide. Alas, in their absense they cause even MORE craziness!

I love the pattern. Its really hard to believe all this could be drawn in Flash, you have a lot more skill at it than me. I must was I like the fact she has no eyes, its makes her more mystical to me.

*falls to the floor* Ok, now I know what happens if you use another program than paint. I don't know this one, but it seems to blend the colours better...? (at least for us ordinary people who can only do pixel-art in paint, for you this is just as smooth and great as always. ^-^)
I just love that style...I love her kimono, the pattern (I don't know the right word...you know, the things painted on the cloth...hm, perhaps "ornaments" is better). The colours are great (wee, autumn^^)....everything!

Wow your Kimono's are quite beautiful. Your blank faces add so much to the focus of the kimono, its just really amazing. The colours, the simple yet elegant background, all so perfect in every way. Awsome work
