SciFi and Fantasy Art: Richardson Shin

This 32 year old man lives in Garderenia, in a partially dilapidated storefront house. He displayes the mannerisms of a (mostly) chivalrous samurai and tried to teach Tero the finer points of Bushido and sword arts a couple of years ago. Tero, however, has a strong dislike of swords, citing them as 'too old world to stand up against modern technology' and thus blew off the teachings. Richardson doesn't tell people this, but in actuality he is the prince of Rathmandu, a nation in the far southeast. The fire that's in his hand is his sister Aika, killed by their brother Koh, who killed their parents and ruled over the country with an iron fist in his attempt to singlehandedly destroy the far more advanced America in the 50 Years and Lashes War that ened shortly after, 16 years ago. Richardson uses a rusted katana for fights; presumably he doesn't clean it to remind himself of his current situation as a desposed ruler. Side note: Renmeyer has two moons; an Earth sized satellite, and a smaller red one; the 'Moon of Iron Gods.' North and South Americans worship the Moon of Iron Gods as the vessel that brought life to the planet, and many great works of literature and art stem from old religious teachings about it.

Another great concept you've created, with the rusted katana-----I was thinking too about the results of getting cut by a rusted blade, some serious infection---ouch! This would make fighting this guy very dangerous indeed! Great work! Is that water color medium?

I love his outfit and a that sword is really cool! I can never draw guys with facial hair -_- Whenever I draw them with leg hair it makes their legs look moldy X.x;;;

This guy's clothes show a great mixture of eastern, western and mid-eastern culture. It's awesome how it tells a story.

It's a bearded bishonen! Touche. I want that outfit. I want that sword...swords.

The moon in the background is a nice touch to a char portrait. The dusk/dawn is also well portrayed. yea, i should say something analytical, or constructive in some way, but i can't...wait- draw more of the bearded guy if u want to. he's kewl. and come up w/ more guy outfits. guy clothes rule. taliho. i am off...

Everything here fits together so well. The colours and the backgrounds (like someone else mentioned) look so great. I'd suggest working on your profiles, though. The forehead is much too high and, with the nose, he looks rather feminine.
