SciFi and Fantasy Art: Water Colour Faeries

Whilst cleaning up my art area I came across this old sketch I did around Dec. and decided to finish it. My first experiment with water colours. This was done on really cheap paper that made the water colour bleed, but that made a nifty effect. I like it..hehe. [update] I decided to also include what it looks like in the negative image. Cool, huh?

I really like this one, even if the watercolours did bleed. I'm not very good with watercolours. Pencil, pen & ink, pastels, oil pastels, and charcoal are my favorites. ^_^ I think this would look really kakkoi in pastels.

You did an awesome job with the watercolors. I mean, they bled, but it doesn't look that bad... I took this one and had my computer invert the colors, just to see how it would look and it is soooo cool! You should really put it up that way.

I just took an illustration class in watercolors.. it is difficult to control them. I think the key is to not control them & just let the materials do wonderful things on their own. As my teacher constantly said all semester "let the watercolor do the work." It's the best advice I can give.

Neat. I prefer the negative. It looks like they going to move, what with those suitcases and all.
