SciFi and Fantasy Art: Captured

This took my like 3 nights. Two of them for coloring:

The lil merboy-prince didn`t liste to his mother well enough, when she told him not to swim away to far "The sharks will get you" she always said... children should listen to their parents more often XD

The shark-guy also was some kind of practice to actually do more "manly" men XD Some people told me, that they often have problems to recognice if my characters are male or female:  So... I don`t know if my sharky-guy is better... what do you think?

The shark-guy still needs a name XD Any suggestions? ^,^

The shark-guy is definitely better and more masculine!!!

Oh! Shoulder measuring tip! Guys shoulders should be 3 heads wide. So his in the middle, plus if you drew an imaginary one on the left and the right of it, his outside ears should line up with his shoulders. (If his shoulders are way too wide following that rule, it probably means his head is too big.)
Anyway, there you go. Keep up the good work!
Man I love those colors!

Hey now, don't gotta be mean, she just needs some tips, that's all. She grew up looking at herself in the mirror, not a guy! Likewise, I'm great at drawing guys, but suck at drawing women.

Anyway, Bruce (can I call him Bruce? "'Ello! I'm Bruce. Bruce the shark!") has a nice square jaw, and nice chiseled shoulders, makin him more masculine.

Your prince does look a little girly. Anonymous was right about the thin waist and big hips. Girls have hourglass or "A" frames, ("A" frame being like the prince) and guys have "T" frames. Just widen up those shoulders, shrink the hips a little bit, and you'd be all set!

Oh, and about what Lor said about the staff... it looks weird becasues it's not outlined, thats all. Your prince is outlined, your shark is outlined, your staff is not. As far as crystle goes, if you just outlined the bottom and backside of the staff, and then put a sparkle or really bright highlight on one of the top edges, it would look more like it. Hope this helps! Good luck and keep cranking out the artwork!

I love the picture it is so amazing. Great detail, maybe the staff should be a colour gray or dark blue, since its master is a shark creature. You should create more artwork based on this picture. Like more mermaids and such. Here are a few names for the shark guy...they are all based on water.

1. Dalit
2. Kaelin
3. Nen
4. Thuy

you draw guys fairly well, I guess you just need to widen the ribs more and deviate from lower chests. That way you can draw feminine guys with them remaining guys.I am just now learning how to draw the female figure and have noticed the differences
