SciFi and Fantasy Art: Chief of Security (Sketch)

What we have here is a sketch of a character for a SFFFRPG (Science Fiction Free Form Roleplaying Game) I'm currently designing. A tremendously slow one-man project, but it's great fun. Anyways, the setting is a space station in vast space, and this here chap just happens to be the chief of security around there. Mechanical pencil; 0.5mm; 2B

O.O This guy looks as if he is sitting through some guy trying to explain his way out of trouble. His 'Tell-me-one-I-havent-heard' or 'not-this-old-excues-_again_' expresion really makes him look as if he has been at his job for a while. He could use a good long coffee brake or more staff before his face gets stuck like that x.x

:-) David K. Östman replies: "That is sort of what I was aiming for, but not from the start. I'm not really sure how this picture got started, but I -think- I was just drawing some random lines on the paper, when this face came up in front of me. It caught me by surprise at first, but then I realized this is exactly what I need. Maybe it's a case of subconscious drawing. Who knows."

Your Shadow work on peoples faces is awesome. Does he have a nervous tic in his right eye, maybe a bionic implant? Or i could say that when i make my eyebrow do that the eye under the raised brow appears bigger than the oposite eye, and maybe you just got them switched. Sorry to be a "constructive criticism" person if you don't need any of that. And for a smart alec comment: you could forget the toothpaste tube approach and go for the baking soda box and table salt(alternate toothpaste combo), that way it takes longer to feel older/worn out. Like you i hit the drawing wall, but it was at 18 so don't feel so bad. But to leave it on a positive note your light and dark constrast is the best i have seen for a long time.

:-) David K. Östman replies: "This is interesting, because when -I- raise my eyebrow like that, my eye doesn't appear to be larger. But then again, my eyebrows have always been abnormally agile and seemingly independant of the rest of the facial muscles 2"
