SciFi and Fantasy Art: Anna does martial arts

Anna, the space station mechanic, are doing some fight training. This picture is a also a training in foreshortening and inking. Somewhat old now, but I still like it.

23 Jun 2006	Grimm	Loading... I love her earrings. The foreshortening is quite good, though the non-kicking leg is at such an angle that she'd be really off-balance and probably fall over. If it was going straight down, I think she'd look more on balance. I love the highlights in her hair- I can never do those. Daniel L. Bergkvist replies: "The balance is meant to be forward. She is frozen in time, she is not balancing like that, the kick would end with her "falling" over on her front leg. It's one of the kicks I practiced during my Martial Arts years (12 years of Ju-Jutsu)."
