| 12 Sep 2003 | Tyler Allan Burns | Your artistic style is great, but I think this is a lot like porno. I'm sorry to say but, would a Valkyrie wear just a bikini to battle? Your skills are great though. Daniel A. Cortopassi replies: "What is and is not porno is a matter of personal taste so I'm not going to debate that. Suffice to say that I think I'm in good company in doing nudes. I suppose Botticelli was a pornographer, too? As for Valkyries in bikinis... this is ART. It's not supposed to be a field guide to practial Valkyrie wear." | |
| 26 Sep 2003 | Michael A. (Amujr) Upchurch | I love your 3D stuff. In-cred-i-bal! I especially love Delfina and Scooter. If I could, I would like to write a poem to that. It has been dancing in little line around my head since, welllll, I don't know when I first took the 'dolphin' tour, but since then, at least. I will, however, only ontinue with your permission, and of course you will be the first to read it. If you say yes, either check out my page or email me at X1_ai@yahoo.co.uk. In fact, check out my page anyway. I don't know why, really, but hey. Ummm, keep up the good work, by the way. Daniel A. Cortopassi replies: "Thanks! Sorry for not responding to my comments faster. Sometimes I lag. By all means, if you still feel like writing a poem, please do." | |

| 22 Oct 2005 | Jayelinda Suridge (aka nortala) | Your work is wonderful. Actually it was what started me visiting elfwood regularly - I had to keep coming back to look at the Lilypad picture I look forward to seeing more... Daniel A. Cortopassi replies: "Thanks!" | |
| 10 Jun 2006 | Constanza Ehrenhaus | Hey, Daniel, some pretty impressive stuff you have here! I do have to say, though, that your digital pics lack some of the life that your traditional media seems to have. More traditional!!Keep it up! Daniel A. Cortopassi replies: "Thanks! I agree. I think working in traditonal media is more satisfying and I think it's made me a better artist." | |
| 17 Aug 2006 | Dennis Roy | The photoshop stuff is impressive, going to colored pencils I think takes so much more skill. You don't have the help of a computer. Great work Daniel A. Cortopassi replies: "Thanks! It's taken some effort to make the transition, but I think it's been worth it. I find it much more personally satisfying." | |
| 1 Nov 2006 | Claire L. Meixner | Your art work is so pretty, I really like the pictures of the cats and of coarse all the mermaids Daniel A. Cortopassi replies: "Thanks!" | |
| 19 Oct 2007 | Casey D. Campbell | Hey Daniel..you have a strong skill with prismacolors. I have yet to achieve that quality yet with them. Its amazing how they lack a grainyness...do you use smoother board and also incorporate prismamarker's..?? Daniel A. Cortopassi replies: "Thanks! I don't use any special tools, really. It's mostly a matter of technique when using the pencils, going over an area repeatedly until I get a solid color. It's possible to blend colors this way, too, layering several different pencil colors on top of one another. Once in a while I use a paper blending stump, but usually I can get the effect I want just by working the pencils. Varying the amount of pressure on the pencil makes a difference, though too much and the "lead" will break. I have not tried markers." | |
