SciFi and Fantasy Art: In the palm of your hand

Like most things, this picture has a story behind it. This is a friend's character, a young man who never felt terribly self-confident until a man of great power took him under his wing and taught him magic.

He's meant to look that way. The description of the character as my friend plays him is extremely androgynous -- someone who could easily pass as female on a casual glance. One of the models for this drawing was female, one was male. The small chin and large eyes -do- look feminine; the large hands and the lighting on the Adam's apple, though, reveal the true gender. So pointing out the androgyny was certainly a compliment -- thank you!

I would love this pic, except in the explanation you called the character a young man, the strong collar bone, small chin and large eyes all tend to make this character seem, female. Just my opinion though.

yes....he could pass for a female at first glance...a somewhat masculine female. it's very well rendered except for one thing...his arms look just a bit short. it could be the perspective though.
