SciFi and Fantasy Art: Shelob's kin meet Sting

I drew this scene from mr.Bilbo Baggins encounter with the giant spiders of Mirkwood, while in a lecture and finished at home. But I feel the charcoal background,my first attempt at it, calshes with the colored foreground. Any way I could merge the two?
