SciFi and Fantasy Art: Native

Originally pencils, colored with computer. I was screwing around with skintones on this one. I was trying to get rid of that lanky, flat stomach look that has become the female stereotype, trading for that of a belly-dancer instead (I was inspired by some Indian sculptures at an Asia Society exhibit); I mean, can't woman be sexy and look like they eat right too? tried to draw her so that her ethnicity could be miscellaneous and exotic, like she was an amazon or an atlantean or something. She bears resemblence to my currently-defunct character Tana, which you might see floating around in the gallery... this could possibly be an reincarnation of that attempt. I might give her tattoos later.

Okay, I agree that not all women are willow switches. I dont mean to be rude, but because of the shape of the stomache, she looks to be in early pregnancy. Other than that she wonderful, maybe tone the belly down a little, not so round. Great art work, though, wish I could be as good as you.

Great picture. I think you should check out the character elena from street fighter 3. You might find the similarities amusing 2

I think it's a really good "not-skinny" girl. Perhaps should have you done her waist larger, she would have look more "healty" and less "pregnant". I have nothing against pregnant women though!

She is beautiful but she does make me think of the girl from Disney's Atlantis and she does look like she is pregnant. There is nothing wrong with any of that, I just thought you might like to hear my opinion. Thank you for listening to me.

I don't think she should have tattoos. I mean, most of your characters range from being covered in them to being sprinkled with them and I think that this one should be left pure and clean. Sorta add to the air of... Um... Innocence around her.

She does look like Kida from "Atlantis." That's pretty cool, if you ask me.
