SciFi and Fantasy Art: Flame from Soil

Whenever I looked at the Mabellina III picture I had, I always had the impression she was a peasant girl on a mission to become a knight, rebelling against all odds to fullfill her dream. I became so involved in this quixotic mission that I felt I needed to make another picture, this time a painting, based on the image. Thus, the new title! I also liked this picture because I tried to ignore all of the repeating traits I find in female knights- under/overdressed, make up and perms, and unreasonable weaponry. This is actually a backround- visit my website at DeviantArt if you'd like the bigger versions for your desktop.

The arm that's drawing the sword out is a bit wrong. The wrist is abnormally thin (an arm with such a wrist wouldn't be able to hold and maneuver a sword in a proper fight) and the position would make it really uncomfortable to draw the sword in a liquid thus fast move needed in a sword fight...

Else from that, her hair and eyes are a lot better than in the previous picture... I still don't like her body armor though... it's in some parts too thin and in others too thick... I don’t know maybe you should make some documentation and see what you can do about it. Shoulder armor is perfect though.

The picture indeed has great potential for becoming a masterpiece... Gotta love it! 2

I think your art is simply amazing, without a doubt it is the BEST stuff I've seen in a LONG time.. and I have been here for YEARS, browsing through people's artwork.. to tell the truth, to much fairy crap.. but you came in with your art-work and showed the people here that there really ARE people out there that CAN draw.. keep up the good work, maby it will blossom into something fearful but stunning.

A tear comes to the eye brought forth by the beauty.
this is an overwellmingly amazing picture. I especially love the green eyes and the way the ground is plain and pale while the sky is tainted red as in reflection of the blood shed you would expect to see on the ground.

Oh... oh... oh my GOODNESS. This is so lovely. I agree with the below comment that an edit of this with purple eyes added would look just like Alanna, but it's perfect the way it is. Thank you!
