SciFi and Fantasy Art: Story for a Princess

Illustration assignment for an Arabic story, which included ants, sesame seeds, honey, a bleeding rooster, date pits, an endless field of sunflowers, princesses and lily flowers that shine like stars... and that's not even half of it. The story is that a king holds a contest for his daughter's hand in marriage: whomever can tell him a story and convince him it's not a lie will win. After several bachelors, a serf-class man recites this surreal, psychotropically-induced romp through the unconscious loaded with all this archetypical images and weird happenings, and somehow he convinces the king. Unfortunately, when the princess is unveiled at the wedding ceremony she is the most horrible, ugly woman the man has ever seen. He runs home in fear and prays to Allah that he escaped, but when he starts to pray he notices an ant crawling down his arm, a sunflower seed, a sesame seed and a date pit on the table (all images in the story). So... Yeah. It was a pretty crazy story with a lot of images, challenging to come up with a composition. Entirely done in Photoshop 7.
