SciFi and Fantasy Art: Drizzt Do'Urden

This is a facial sketch I did of my interoperation of Drizzt, fresh out from the underdark, still very young, and naive. He does not look tough and handsome yet as I saw him young and awkward as most young teens can be. Criticize if you must, it can be expected, but please keep it clean and be nice to each other. I did this because, I like so many are tired of seeing Drizzt looking like some old human man. THE CHALLENGE: Hey R. A. Salvatore, we love you and your wonderful work, ... but if an amateur like me can do this, ... can't you please find an artist you like that will portray him as you have in your books? Young, handsome, and elven? ... Please? ::hugs:: Thanks! Update: Oh yes! I DO like the new art of Drizzt in the newest books of his! Thanks, you must have heard me!

I think it's a really good picture, but I have to agree with some of the other comments about how it doesn't look like Drizzt at all.

If I remember Drizzt was only in his 30 when he left Mezobaran(sp?) Then about 10 years later he left the underdark completely. but you know the comment about elves not maturing until they are 110 is so true. He looks like a young and childish Drizzt. If i were to say any time frame then I would say this was right after he left Mezobaran. His ears need to be a bit smaller but thats ok he still has time to grow in to his features at this age.

:-) Diana Marie Gibson replies: "Nice to see someone understands my thoughts on his age! 1 Thanks!"

Salvatore vs. Pini? DarkElf vs. ElfQuest? Drizzt vs. Skywise ? I sense some Skywise in this character, although I know he's someone else... Man, I have to read that Trilgoy sometime soon! yet... If I do... My galleries will probably be swamped with Drizzt-look-alikes and I'm not sure Rayek would enjoy that! *G*

Whats Stin?

Anyways>>>Drizzt, very cool, the sartist Salvatore's had so far weren't the best, except maybe on the cystal shard. You shouls try Cattie-brie, or Zaknefein(spelling)
If you can do Drizzt like that, well, yo could do an entire character theme or something.....2

no kidding. on all the covers, they make Drizzt look 10 times older than what he really is, especially on Legacy and Starless Night *shudder* great pic. far better than the cover art
