SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sword

An attempt at oil painting from several years ago. I would like to try oils again if I can just find the time. Sorry about the scan quality. It was taken from a photo of the original, hence the slight glare.

Being a very big fan of all your other pics i had to comment here. Felt it was my duty. This is a great pic. Looks just like a boris vallejo pic which makes me like even more. This is very well *oiled* pic. The abdominal muscles work perfectly. The pectoral muscles semm a little out of place due to the position of the arm. But the great detail in the arm makes it work excellently. The monster in the back looks fierce and kind of demonic to me anyway. His left leg thrusting forward is brilliant. His abdominals may work great, they are a little bit too high. But still the pic is in all of your talent, on the brink of greatness.

All of your artwork is extrodinary...my only hope is to a)be like you when I grow up, and b)that you have a career doing this and are getting paid your due respects....I am truly inspired...thank you!

I agree with Shaynus, it's very Conan...heh, just found it great that someone else knows about Conan...I'm a freshman in high school, so it's kinda funny that I would know about Conan, but hey, I'm a weirdo. Also, a comment...I know I'm no artist, but I can critique professionally...I just have to say that I know you can't change it now, but the warrior is a little too close to the beast and too far from the edge of the hill/cliff. Well, that's if he's jumping. It just looks like you cut-pasted him right there when you really needed to move him down a bit. *shrugs* I wouldn't've bothered commenting, but I was surprised no one else had. Otherwise, all your work is AWESOME, SPECTACULAR, SUPREME. There need to be more Elfwood artists with your talent and modesty and LESS Elfwood artists who are overly cocky and self-absorbed, yet have no talent. ^_~ You're great, keep up the wonderful work.

Hmmm...Conan...*tries to picture Arnold with a komodo dragon* I really like this! Your monochromatic technique is very nice, and the glare makes it seem as if the sun is setting behind them.

Awesome. Very reminiscent of Boris Vellejo as has been mentioned. As a bodybuilding enthusiast, I'm very impressed with your grasp of muscular anatomy. Great work!

Your art always reminds me of the Conan the Barbarian art (: And that's a compliment.
