SciFi and Fantasy Art: Nature of the Deity

"I am God, and not man- the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath.
They will follow the Lord; he will roar like a lion.
When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west.
They will come trembling like birds from Egypt, like doves from Assyria.
I will settle them in their homes,' declares the Lord." -Hosea 11: 9-11

This is glorious! I am in awe of the quiet majesty you expressed in the painting and I find myself at a loss for words.

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "Thanks so much Barbara. I'm very glad you appreciated it. I have plans for many more Christian works. When I complete a Christian painting I feel like I've accomplished something, a feeling that is decidedly lacking when I finish a secular piece."

Fantastic! The colors in this are beautiful. The blue sky sets off the warm hues of the rest of the picture beautifully. And that is such a beautiful, hopeful passage from Hosea, wonderfully illustrated.

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "Thankyou very much Joelle. Yeah, the Bible is so inspirational, definitely a living book!"

ASLAN!! 1

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "I'm glad you like it. 2 It's not Aslan though."

Oh, I know it isn't. But Aslan is one of my favorite literary representations of Christ, so I couldn't help but draw the connection. 12

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "Fair enough. 2"

Hi! This is just stunning. It’s beautiful. Great choice in colors, the metaphor is also powerful and the lion is just breathtaking. Anyway, I, myself lean more to the dark side of arts; vampires, ghouls and other fiends so this is a great compliment from me 12
Well done...

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "Thankyou very much for the kind comment Marijan; I’m sorry for the late reply. I’m glad you enjoyed this piece."

Beautiful, really nice. The colors are perfect and the face of the lion is stunning. Really warm and loving and perfect. I like the concept and the birds are very well done, too. I like how the colors all tie in together, like they are all made from the same thing 12 Great work, really beautiful and warm.

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "Thank you very much for the comment, Gwenivere. I’m glad you liked the colour choices!"

Now THAT is how Aslan is should to look! Its amazing! And am I right in guessing that that’s Jeruselem at the botom?

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "Thank you very much. It is supposed to be Jerusalem, but in reality it’s a random Near-Eastern-esque skyline."

It is beautiful, completely beautiful.

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "Thank you very much Ieva!"

Wow... beautiful colours and lighting! This is a really good artistic interpretation of the Bible passage! I like the compassionate, loving gaze of the lion especially - and how all light seems to be emanating from him. The doves are really beautiful too...

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "Hi Desiree,
Thanks very much for your thoughts. I appreciate the kind comment."

The Bible passage and the picture has a great connection indeed. Marvellous and amazing to the extreme. You are a talented artist- bear that in mind. And keep this up and God bless you. ^)^

:-) Donna Quinn replies: "Thank you very much Aaron. May God bless you too and use you to further His kingdom. Kind regards,
-Donna."
