SciFi and Fantasy Art: Apollo, god of the Sun

YEAHHH!!! APOLLO god of the Sun. I promise this would be out and it is. I know that this is from a magazine pose that is quite common but I just couldn’t help myself but to draw that study body. I found this same pose in several different galleries on Elfwood so far. I used the same upper body as on my YING YANG picture I just gave him different hair and skin tones. The model in the magazine was wearing pants so I guessed on how the legs should look instead of running to find a reference on men’s legs or trying to convince my husband to take his pants off and let me draw his legs instead. I think I might have done the legs a little thinner than what would have been in per portion to his upper body, but I think it looks alright. There is an amazing about of detail in his harp! I took a very fine doge tool and made hundreds of tiny hand drawn vines and leaves. His tattoo turned out pretty cool I was worried about a common artist problem of not being able to draw a perfectly strait line or circle. Hehe. I got the pose for the hands on FARP They have a lot of great references and poses as well. If you haven't taken advantage of FARP I would defiantly take a look.
