SciFi and Fantasy Art: Elves #01

Well, don't let the title fool you, it's just one elf. This is my rendition of an elven faerie girl, even there even such a thing, heheh. I may color this in the future, but I think it looks good as line art.

Along with line art, I tried practicing some abstract art as well, by adding that circular border in the background with a really simple Celtic-knot style of design. I really think I should have added more though...

nice but I think to make it even better it needs color and shades 1 and this would be great for a tattoo 1

:-) Tim H. Nguyen replies: "Yea, I should really add color and shading to it sometime. Tatoo? I've always wanted to make some tatoo designs, but I never knew this would have been close to one, heheh. Thanx for the comment and critique (^-^)!"

Great picture!! I really hope you will colour it some day ^-^ And just a question, how do you get the circel-border-thingy (I know that doesn't excists, but I hope you'll know what I eman *^-^*) this perfect? If I try to make something like this every *knot* looks different -_-

Great pic!!!

:-) Tim H. Nguyen replies: "Well, all my knot-designs look really off in this design, but I tried. To get it into a perfect circle shape, just use a compass. Yep, that's all it takes. You can either buy a compass or make your own. To make your own compass all you need is a pin, a string, and a pencil. To use the custom compass: Attatch one end of the string to the pin and pin it to where you think the center of the circle should be; Attatch the other end of the string to the pencil; Let the pencil go as far as it can go from the pin until the string is nice and straight; draw away from the pin with the string taut and you should be moving in a circular fashion; The ending product will be a full circle! You can adjust the radius of the circle by making the string longer or shorter. If you want, you can also use the compass for the edges of the knot as well, by strategically placing the center of the circle in varous places outside the circle and trying to interlace each design over the other... Sorry if this message is extremely long, heheh. Hope this helps, and thanx for the comment (^-^)!"

A coloured version would look gorgeous!

And I applaud your border. *applause*

:-) Tim H. Nguyen replies: "Thanx for the suggestion, and hopefully I can get to it sometime. As for the border, it was something new for me, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to try."
