SciFi and Fantasy Art: Dragohn Head

Head of my dragon model as of June '98 The nose looks big because its too close with a wide angle lens. I created the texture totally from scratch with procedural noise textures. This was before I perfected the eyes & ears. This pic doesn't show all the work that went into the teeth & gums. I eventually want to make it talk, but I don't think I'll be doing it with the version of the software I have.

11 Feb 1999	Donna	Loading... I hope you don't mind me making a suggestion... But, your picture kinda looks like you are trying to make a mean Yoshi. Kind of like a cartoon dinosaur from a "kids always remember to brush your teeth" commercial. But! Your picture is not at all far away from being a fierce mean dragon. Just give him ears, and put a little more definition in his face. Make his face look a little rougher, and try adding some aged wrinkles. But, if harmless and cute is the look you were goin for, then hey! Don't change a thing! Wonderful and excellent!
29 Oct 2000	Daniel James Neufeldt	Loading... the guy with the comment right above me obviously knows nothing at all about 3d modeling. yes, ok, i'll just throw in some wrinkles. I'll just toss some ears on there. i'll just whip up a complete facial bone structure real quick. and i'll slap some scales all over while i'm at it. ok, i'm done ranting. since i also make things in 3d i realize that this must have taken a very long time to make and i am impressed. ok, now i'm done.
