SciFi and Fantasy Art: Zmei Gorinich (Russian for mountain serpent)

In Russian folklore the heroes are the Bogatyrs an equivalent of knights though most were not of noble blood. In this somewhat westernized conception of the tales, one deals with a mence of many of those stories, the three headed mountain serpent Zmei Gorinich. (oil on cnavas, This is a rather large painting which I had to scan piece meal so some lines can be seen)

Yay!! More art based on Russian folklore! Who knew there were so many Russian-speaking artists here? Apparently I'm not the only one... Really, really nice painting. Looks like it was very hard to do. I like it a lot.

omg! you should draw finnish folklore also (sampo (the thing that gives you gold, salt and wheat), väinämöinen , the hero of the story hes an all-knowing undead guy and then Louhi, the witch who marries her daughter to väinämöinen and steals sampo...

that wasnt the hole story...just in case you got interested XD you should read the whole story somewhere It all ends good though.
have a nice day Thor
