SciFi and Fantasy Art: Viking on his way to Valhalla

The young Viking said goodbye to his whife and children and began his travel to Uppsala... there he met his army. At dusk the enemy arrived, he fought bravely for hours... but then his destiny caught him. An arrow from a well aimed archer took his life. His travel to Valhalla was to begin. The Valkyrie sat down by his side and held him in her arms, saying some words of comfort...

I like their clothes, do you make their costumes up or look at references?

:-) Stefan Ekstrand replies: "Actually I made these up ^^ they're not that advanced so.. it wasn't really a challange. Anyway, thanks Chrissy ^_*"

"I believe its pronounced valhalla " um.. Yes.. doesn't it say so? ( For you who wonders what "Uppsala" is, I can tell you it was/is a swedish town/city) ^_^.
I like the shading here, and keep up the good work!

:-) Stefan Ekstrand replies: "Well, from the beginning it didn't say so. I changed it... i believe it sadi walalla... or something. Ps. deet kan ju vara sommar juh ^^ Och om du tänker på valkyriorna så kommer dom ner till slagfältet bara en kort stund... och då behöver dom inte så tjocka kläder. eller vad tycker du?"

The design's nice. But as for the constructive criticism 2 : The shading has to have a starker contrast. And the breasts of the lady tending to the dying guy is unproportioned. The moon or whatever it is in the sky has to have more shading in it as well as the shadows of the characters on the ground seem to be missing. The hand of the lady to the far right, her hand is too small for her body size. Umm...Other than that, good job 2 (i talk too much..) oh and im hypocritical also since im only 14 and still learning hot to paint and stuff..Haha *unimportant details* good job tho

Basically everything's good except the Valkyries spears are all wrong so is the second Valkyries shield(THANK YOU FOR NOT GIVING HIM A HORNED HELM(they only existed in German plays and in bronze age Goths)(ancient English)No Viking ever wore a helm with horns.

This is GREAT! I'm Scandinavian but don't know much about the languages (Curses to me for living in New Zealand) but this is perfect in my knowledge..Except for the fact you spelt Whife instead of Wife. Hehe. The picture is great!
