I tend to do sketches based on whatever captures my fancy. I prefer to sketch females over males, as the curves and lines are easier on the eyes. My ideas change rapidly, so a sketch may end up radically different from what I intended for it.
I've been immersed in fantasy since I was very young. My uncle, who had the chance to babysit me often, surrounded me with D&D and computer roleplaying games starting when I was about five years old, and my mom has always been into Star Trek, Hercules, the Ren Faire, etc.
My main talent is actually writing rather than drawing. I write fantasy and erotica, for the most part, although I've become a strong technical writer. I'm as much of a Tolkien fan as you can get, attending lectures given by Tolkien scholars, studying Finnish and Welsh (the two languages Quenya and Sindarin are based on), and even belong to both the official fan club as well as the Tolkien Society.
My ideal week would be the Ren Faire, GenCon, DragonCon, a showing of any truly good fantasy movie, and then playing D&D or the LOTR card game.
Hi Traci, I'm glad to be the first to comment on your art. You've got some really nice stuff submitted here and I look forward to seeing more! I agree that the female form is easier on the eyes, but even though "less is more" drawing-wise, it certainly doesn't make it easier! Let me know when you update and perhaps we can do an exchange or something. Keep up the great work!
Surprising, provocative, and natural talent...inquisitive, and natural is the artist... Words escape me right now, but keep your mind always open, and searching...Good Luck!!!
HOW cute I love your gallery have you ever thought about adding color? Traci Lynn Gondek replies: "Actually, it's funny you mention that, because I just started working on some new anime today that I plan on eventually coloring. Thank you!!"
Hey there Traci, I love your artwork on here, and I too agree with your opinion of drawing females over males, I too am a writer and I'd love to read you stories, If you would allow me. Have you thought of making a Wyverns Libary account?
