SciFi and Fantasy Art: Hoshiko - Updated

New drawing, because the old one was getting dull and boring...

I think I promised Mary a drawing og Vega's 'patron deity', so here she is! I'm not all happy woth the drawing, she doesn't look quite the way I want her to, but this is a start!

Anyway, this is Hoshiko (not to be confused with the other Hoshiko in my gallery), and she's the goddess of the stars. Her elements are spirit and space (space is an element, just ask Wayne!). Her "twin brother" is also the god of the moon, and they are very close. (therefor they are very often worshipped together.) She used to be the goddess of the morning (one of the sun-goddesse's maids), but she was cast into the night because... well, really long story. Let's just say she did something she shouldn't have. Hoshiko is mute, but she can use telepathy to some extent.

very nice Eli! it's really pretty...i would guess that the constellation is gemini because she is a twin, but i honestly couldn't tell you if i'm right or not! *^-^*

1 Eli Marie S. Landro replies: "Thank you thank you! The constellations are not gemini, but that was a rather good guess! Actually, they aren't astrological signs at all, but that's all I'm going to say about it! 12"

Oh wow Eli!! Hoshiko is lovely! *is totally envious of how cool she is* I looooove her dress for one, lol! So neat! Anyway, isn't it kinda creepy that both Helka and Vega's patron deities both have the same hair color, lol? o.O I need to re-do Saereath sometime too. And if I remember from studying constellations, I think the one in the upper left is gemini. I'm prolly wrong though. D'you think I could draw Hoskiko and Sae-chan (Saereath's nickname now! ^^) together sometime? Fabulous job Eli-chan and email me soon! *^.^*

1 Eli Marie S. Landro replies: "*hugs* Thank yoooou!!! Yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw Sae-chan too! Actually, Hoshi-chan had blond hair and wasn't quite this pale when she was the goddess of the morning, but she changed when she became the goddess of the stars. (I have too much background story on stuff! *lol*) And I've been thinking about drawing them together also, I think it's such a neat idea! (Of course, I have to finish the modern Helka and Vega first! *lol*) And I'll probably get around to e-mail you later today! TTUL!"

Wow, that's really good. I love everything you do, Eli. That shading is just awesome.

You know, I've been thinking of changing that element name to Aether. Nothing would change about the element itself (or its elementals), I just thought it sounded cooler than space! What do you think?

:-) Eli Marie S. Landro replies: "Thank you! You are so nice! ^-^And I think space is such a cool element! Please don't change it! 2"

!!!!!!!!!! She's absolutly stunning! i want her gloves sooo much, they're so awesomely cool! i wish i could design clothing, my imagination won't let me, and you're soooo good at it! she's so pwetty!

1 Eli Marie S. Landro replies: "Thanks! 2 I'm sure you can design lots of pretty clothes! Surfing around the net for inspiration is a good way to start! ^-^"

I'm NOT changing the element! Just the name! I mean, aether (also spelled ether - but I think of that as an anaesthetic) was an ancient idea of the substance between stars (similar to the old belief that heat was a substance called caloric). Don't you think that's a good name? No?

Of course, those same ancient scientists believed the sun went around the Earth and that lead could be changed into gold...

I'll think on it, and I'm glad you adopted my elements!

Are the constellations Signus the swan and Ursa minor?

1 Eli Marie S. Landro replies: "Signus is right, but not Ursa minor. ^-^"

I just wanted to compliment by saying that it reminds me of Leiji Matsumoto's anime.
