Anubis stands sentinel upon the ancient walls of the Necropolis of Time. Only he is capable of lighting the fires to blaze away the night, driving back Apep's pestilent night.

The subtle shading and outlining in blue is really guite effective, and provides a nice contrast with the foreground. Great work on Anubis, an amazing rendition of him, I think. Chelsea Schetzle replies: "Thanks! I was trying to do a moondog, that is, a ring around the moon, but it didn't look right so I toned it down and left a soft blue ring. Thanks for the lovely comment, this piece took a long time to complete. (And fire is so much fun, if only I could figure out water.)"
1 Sep 2004	Patrick R. Derksen	Loading... I like how the scenery is just as much a character as the excellently drawn Anubis. Calling it "background" doesn't do it justice. You really made the colours count in this one.
12 Sep 2004	Mathew Tomberlin	Loading... Yes, the blue contrasts nicely with the reds and oranges of the fire. And Anubis came out perfect, he even looks like hes looking out for wrongdoers.
