SciFi and Fantasy Art: Flamehorse

This is a character I've been drawing for forever. Part dragon, part horse. I don't know what other people call them.. but I've heard that there's another name for them. He doesn't really have a name. I'm embarrassed by some of my older pictures because it took me a while to get horse proportions right -_- .. I remodeled him a while back, and gave him Sephiroth hair (that's what it reminds me of). I figure if I ever own a horse, he'll look like this. hehe.. In this, he's just landed, come to a skidding halt, tossed his head and roared, lifting a hoof and half-spreading his wings just for effect. I thought about that for a long time, and it helped me get a nice image. Someday I'll finish this. Anyhow.. Enjoy ^_^.

This is excellent...the musculature, the shading...really makes it stand out and gives it a realism I would love to achieve.

This is freaking awesome 2

They are called "Hurroks" by the way, and I think the name comes from the Tamora Pierce books. Only in there they has raptor feet. So maybe this is not a Hurrok...hmm...

I have a picture of a hurrok I drew, though is not nearly so good. Nothing I draw has muscle. Cannot draw muscle. *sighs in envy*

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I luv horses, I luv dragons, I luv this pic! Ohmigod, I tried drawing something like this once. I'm a good artist, but trying a dragon/horse kicked my buttocks. You rock! Rock on. SOmeone once told me the actual supposed name of such a creature, but you know what? I forgot and she was a crackhead anyway ^.^ I'm stealing this pic *well...not really, but I luv it) kawaii!

I'm trying to design a dragon to replace an older kiddy-like one i painted by my bed 2 yrs ago, and the wings are my only problem. they don't match the sleek curve of the rest of my dragon, they're all pointy. I LOVE your wings, the hand is soooo cool. Do you mind if I doodle a basic onto my dargon to see if it works? If you want i'll send you a pic when and if is't ever done. 2
PS. I'm a horse nut, this horsie kicks booty! RAAAAARRRR!!!

i think that this looks like a "Hurrok" fron Tamora Pierc's "Immortals" quartet. since i had yet to find a good pic of a hurrok (until now ^.^), yeah, it's cool.i like it...actually, hurroks are supposed to have talons instead of hoofs (which makes it hard for them to land), but it's still really good.
