SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Lookout

This piece is one of my 'armature' drawings. That means that it was done while looking off of another picture to get the basic outlines, with changes made where needed. In this case, I used the splash page from SW Jedi Academy: Leviathan #1 as an 'armature', changing the figure and the background to suit my needs. The picture is actually around the size of a school desk top, (I photocopied it down to paper size, then scanned it in and shrunk it down even more), and depicts Xicanti, one of my RPG and novel characters. I've never been able to get his face quite right, which is why I've left it out here.

Yupyup. Definately my favorite from your gallery. You did a great job at the textures here, and the 'faceless-thingie' actually looks pretty neat. The composition is very good, it's usually very difficult to draw from this angle. Kudos!

He looks incredibly sexy. I wish I could see the face. Maybe that's the challenge! What can I say, I LOVE it!

Thanks for the comments, peoples! Glad you like this picture. It took me HOURS to complete, (over a period of around two months), with some very unco-operative, oily paper that didn't want to be inked. It's nice to know that so many people appreciate it! Heidi: it's also great to see that someone besides Persis - and me! - thinks he's sexy to boot!

Gah! Where DO you find the patience Ems? I'm still in awe over this pic. It turned out amazing! Too bad some of it got lopped off on sticking it up here. Ah well. Color coming along any more since I last saw it?
