SciFi and Fantasy Art: Little Green Gryphon

I painted this initially to practice painting feathers because I got commissioned to draw & paint a humanoid bird character which I was having trouble with..feathers on a humanoid. Pesky things. Anyway, *floof* this little gryphon was born while I was practicing another feather technique:)

10 Apr 2006	Polenth Blake	Loading... It's very atmospheric, in a snuggly fluffy baby gryphon sort of way. The eye is beautiful, and the feathers at the end of the wings are well done. Possibly some of the longer body feathers are a bit too symmetrically rounded at the end, rather than shaped, if that makes sense.
