SciFi and Fantasy Art: Female Drider

The Driders are half human, half spider and inhabit many dark caves and caverns of this world. Or maybe some other world?

BTW Driders are Half-spider Half-drow, and though they hate there drow kin, they still have a great hate for humans.

That drider looks to happy. Put a sorrowful "Darn...I'm a drider because I wasn't good enough for my god or my race" face on her and I think you got a REAL Drider.

Not real up on what a drider is but she looks good. Besides, even the meanest and most miserible creatures have moments of happiness, maybe she's just got some good news?
Though to me she looks more peaceful than outright happy.

:-) Emerson Ward replies: "Thanks Saytar, i should probably clear it up, she has captured one of her major enemies and has him suspended in her lair, the expression is her relief and exhileration at having just done it. Now she will decide his fate..."

This is a great drider. Using this for my "Draknid's R Us" Tour 2

:-) Emerson Ward replies: "Thanks Crissy, i like the tour, there is definately some talent out there. It's filled me up with inspiration, i think i'll go in a quiet corner and burst now... by!"

very good peice...one thing, though. Driders are genderless....I read it in a book.

12 Emerson Ward replies: "Thankyou matron mother, though you cant believe everything you read in a book (Too many people have thier own ideas, it makes fantasy umm... interesting)"

In Dungeons and dragons, drider are half drow who either fail the test given to them or disobey a high-priestes, it can be male or female

13 Emerson Ward replies: "Thanks Michael, i didn't know that when I first posted this, but i sure do now. I would like to redo this pic with a more drow type feel to it, it's on the list"

Uhhh, hmm, i just realized, drider are from roman mythology, i think it was taken from that, so drider don't have to be drow, and they can be any gender. sorry...

:-) Emerson Ward replies: "Cheers, don't worry Michael. I think many people have don'e thier own thing with the idea. But the roman origin - i can't say yay or nay, but it is a way cool idea. (I know it's probably quite wrong, but i can't get the sudden image of an army of legionare style driders, wreaking havock, out of my mind) - do u have any more info on this?"

Driders in D&D don't have to be Drow because driders can and do (for the purpose of torturing) turn other humanoids into Driders.

And the pic is great. =^.^=

Very nice drider, I don't see very often driders like this one. And I agree with you when you say that anyone can draw driders with it's own style, not following a standard, that would be boring.
