SciFi and Fantasy Art: Christmas Special - 11 Pipers Piping

This was my submission for Artcorner.org 2000 Christmas countdown splash page. Here it is - the '11 pipers piping' image displayed on December 12th, 2000. (At least, I *think* it was the 12th)

I must, have to, put a disclaimer!
Sorry, there aren't really 11 pipers... But I usually don't do group portraits, and I was racing for the deadline (I started this one on the 9th, and only finished on the 10th!! x_x) In my haste with shading/coloring this one, I forgot to think of light sourcing and shading... shadows are cast in all haphazard directions. (Oops.) But since I churned so much effort on this one, and especially because I sacrificed finals studying time, I feel like this is my baby... Nevertheless, that said - Constructive Criticism is still welcome! Especially dirty tricks :D on how to fix the problems...

6 Feb 2003	Zara	Loading... Cool, a picture with a kind of "band" theme! Very cute, and I can't find anything wrong. Maybe they are 11 pipers, but they're on break, which is why they aren't piping at the moment - band kids love their breaks and find all sorts of goofy things to do. Or maybe they're supposed to be having a sectional - a lot of times my flute section with be supposed to be having a sectional but most of us will goof off instead . . .

What you could say about 9, 10, and 11 is that they're off with the 8 maids-a-milking....that or the cat's got them trapped behind the refrigerator. This pic is totally cute and you should be proud. Who gives a bleep what anybody else says...this pic rocks.
