This picture should probably be called 'The Very Late Birthday Present...' but its not, so blah. But it is indeed a very late birthday present (as you might of guessed already) for my good friend Karyuu, or as others know her, Elina. Her page is right next to mine and she is a very talented artist so just as soon as you get done here, click on over to her site look at all her wonderful stuff. She is a really nice person and won't shoo anyone away. Well, anyway, her birthday must of been like a month ago or something and I have been working on this picture off and on ever since. This is one of her characters 'Karyuu'. Right now I am sick of it (mabey I dont like being rushed, I work very slow), but that should wear off in a couple days and I'm sure I will like it, for I have been told that it is a preaty good picture. *Looks at picture, curses it a million times over. Points finger hysterically at rock/grass dragon is standing on. Curses it a million times again.* I dont know, I am just really mad at this picture right now, cause it took so long. But don't get me wrong, I love the character. It was really fun to draw and fun to color, but I dont know, that background took too long. Especially the sky. NEVER try to do a starry night sky in colored pencils. In paint it is easy, not in colored pencils. That alone took me the good part of a day. But now I'm rambleing, and I'm sure that nobody came here to hear me ramble. Is anyone even still reading this? I feel silly typeing all this in here when everybody has already scrolled to the picture. Mabey Elina, she would be the only one reading this (Happy Birthday Elina!). And so, if you haven't scrolled down yet, do it now (who am I talking to?) Well, look at the picture. Go now. I'm gonna stop typing preaty soon. Oh yeah, comments would be appriciated. That's a nice ramble you got there. You should read some of mine. I think my record is a printed page, he he. Anyway, wonderful picture! Yes, backgrounds take a long time. Stary nights take a long time. Very long time. *nods* wonderful picture, me likes.
WOW that is wonderful the best work i have seen so far not that he rest wasn't good it was i commented a lot but it is quiet obvious that the time you put into it and the affection you have for your friend was well worth it and i hope you come to like the picture too
This is seriously AWESOME!!!!! I love the dragon's round face, it is certainly a change from most of them that I see around here. I work in colored pencis too, but NOTHING, I mean it, NOTHING of mine looks so absolutely fabulous. I LOVE the background, I usually don't do them as I think I can't and get impatient w/ them. o-O! Keep it up!!!!!! My jaw nearly hit the floor when I stumbled on this!!!!!!!! WOWOWOWOWOW!!!

Wow O_O The sky looks great! (as does the whole picture) I'm really amazed that you can pull this off with coloured pencils, this really encourages me to keep precticing. It looks wonderful!
