SciFi and Fantasy Art: Drow Necromancer in study

WOW Look at me go. This picture not only has the character not standing and facing right at you, and not only does it have non-humanoids of some kind, but it's got FURNITURE! And the person is USING the furniture. Wow. I'm getting adventurous. Anyhow, this is a dark elf, an aspiring necromancer, taking notes on some high elf dumb enough to tresspass. A lovely elven maiden, she's been too busy with her studies to bother with the politics of the Underdark. This was another commisioned peice I've done for my friend (the dark elf lover), the same person I did Faeryl and Chronomancer for, and inspired me to the do the color dark elf pic. 2/9/99

I must ask, is she under a spell to make her so pale? My people are usually darker than. Perhaps she should pray to Lolth...Aha! I have it. She is an albino. That explains it. And thats my table. She stole it!!

This is a really cool picture, 'BUT', your perspective is off. The table is sloping downward but the viewer is looking almost straight at the character. The severed head seems too far away from the characters face which makes the seated character look like her arm is supposed to be very long. This is also caused by the fact that you have her arm in such a position along the end of the table that it looks distended. The book looks like it's ready to fall off the table.

I have to say that this is indeed an amazing and creative piece, but if the perspective of the table were hightened, it would have made it so much better!!!! ((Even I have serious problems with perspective, some I'm not raggin on you just because!)) 12 Love the ink work 2

I would like to start out with saying that you are a great artist. I been roaming around this page as I try to learn how to draw, and like fantasy. But unfortunantely I thought the same as the rest, the only thing that actually tells it is a drow ( apart from the fact she seems really happy for holding a drow head) is the spider I think. But again, incredeble picture.
