SciFi and Fantasy Art: Fern Fay

Feb 16 2004

More weird wings.
I sort of reward myself with drawing those after I've practised feathered ones. ^_^
They were suposed to look like fern-blades but I sorta got distracted by making that border thingy.
Ooops...

Hi! This picture is really cool. You make the it look old and like its painted on wood 2 I like your stile..haven´t seen anything like it. Good luck!

1 Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "Painted on wood? Wow, what a neat concept, I'll have to try that sometime. ^_^
Anyways, I'm glad you like it, thanks for commenting and letting me know. "

Neat. I like the wings and her hair. It's nice and pointy. The photoshop touches look good, too.

:-) Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "Yay for pointy hair. ^_^

Hmm, you really seem to know what you are doing. I wish i could use Photoshop like this.

:-) Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "Well, to be honest about 97% of this was drawn by hand. Only tinting and the background inside the border were added in photoshop and those bits are not hard to do.
I wish I could use Photoshop as well as everybody seem to think I can, lol. ^_~"

I absolutely love the monochromatic colors in this piece. It looks like an old, weathered piece of art...very cool. Of course, I like the fairy too!! Congrats too, on all of your mod's choices. They are well deserved. Awsome gallery!!

1 Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "Thank you very much, I'm really glad you like this, both the fairy and the coloration. Some people have expressed their disapintment over my monochrome works but I quite like that style right now and it makes me happy to know others do too. ^_^
Thank you very much for commenting!"

Ah come one, the wierd wings that you draw are so cool, and its not like you have to draw feathered ones...

:-) Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "True enough, but I would like to be able to. ^_^"

I believe you have the bodies of your subjects down pat. The weaponry is always unique and skillfully created. But you are right I am afraid: those wings...same sugestion as other comments. Add a joint and adjust to liking.
John

2 Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "I know, I know, gotta keep practising, thanks for all your helpfull suggestions, I'm sure they'll help!"
