| 15 Feb 2004 | Christa Nopp | Now, this is an unusual couple. I would love to hear their story. Very beautifully drawn, btw. But then you know that I'm a fan Frida Månsson Bergholtz replies: "I am sorry I havent answered your comment for a while. I just didn´t know what to write. The story is very long and complicated. The love story however is quite simple. Becauce of all the things going on their love never had the opportunity to blossom. But there was an unspoken understanding that once everything was over they were going to be together. Things didn´t work out that way however and Disdracon had to flee and keep himself hidden. He didn´t brought Apple with him because he was worried that she could get hurt. And Apple cant forgive him for that. He has been gone for ten years now. Glad my picture caught your interrest." | |
| 25 Jul 2004 | Emma Kaz | Wow, the tenderness in this picture is quite evident. I love the creativity of this scene. Is Disdracon an NPC created ny your gm or did you make him up, yourself? Frida Månsson Bergholtz replies: "Thank you. Disdracon is a very important npc in our game." | |
| 19 Aug 2004 | Archeeka archeeka@mai...com> | I heard from Azia, my friend, that you really appreciate criticism. While I browsed at your work, I found that there were few details that I could scrutinize. However, after seeing this picture and several others, I have found a distinct pattern that disturbs me. The ears of your characters have no definate shape. They are morphed and oozy. No, not blob-like, just morphed and oozy. (I used Azia's brother to clarify that). Also, the details of the inner indicate that, while you show through your artwork that you have an intimate knowledge of anatomy, you have not studied the ear. I recognize that these ears are supposed to be pointy i.e. "elfish", however, they look like regular ears in which the ends were morphed badly in clay in the dark. (That's evil. I know.) Anyway, your ears need work. They almost look like they don't even have any cartilige (I spell? Pfft.) in them. If you'd like some references on elfish looking ears that have distinct definition in them that are pleasing to look at, I suggest that you look at pictures from the second Vampire Hunter D movie, "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust". You can find pictures through searches such as Google. Just type in Vampire Hunter D, and you'll see many different pictures, and some of them will be anime pics that have a rather orthodox (cannot spell, dear god), dark anime style. It's rather strange, but the ears are most badass. Well, I hope this works for you. Frida Månsson Bergholtz replies: "Hm! thats interresting I have used my own ear as a reference so apparantly my ear looks morphed and oozy. No seriously I think that I have a very good idea of what an ear looks like, the problem might be that I usually don´t put much effort in to them, they need a little more shading to define their shape. Another problem is that I draw very small pictures (most are very enlarged on elfwood) There is simply not any rooom for details on the ears. I dont think that elven ears should have a special anatomy of their own I like doing a human shaped ear with a little point, and usually I find animé elf ears to be grossly exaggerated and distastefull. I havent really given the ears in Vampire hunter D a second though but I will study them the next time I see the movie. Thank you very much for your input, I will put a little bit more effort in the ears the next time." | |
| 27 Oct 2005 | Anonymous | I love your art work. Very nice all around.. But I can't help but think that intimacy between these two might be a problem. Frida Månsson Bergholtz replies: "Well they never got that far. But if there is a will there is a way. Glad you like my art." | |
| 29 Dec 2005 | Erin Hopkins | It's so well detailed and you can really see the emotions on their faces. Good job. Frida Månsson Bergholtz replies: "Thank you even if the anatomical problems are annoying this picture is very dear to me." | |

| 22 Jun 2006 | Rafael A. Martinez | Hey! Nice work... Love the emotion and energy in the picture, it tells a hell of a tale. Your backstory deff added some, but you can clearly see most of it in the pic itself. Which in my opinion is the important part. As for the ears I can kinda see what Archeeka means, but I'll be honest; I've never been a fan of those kind of ears too much on a drawing like this... maybe if the style was more anime-like. That being said i must confess that I've yet to find a pleasing version of elven ears that I feel comfortable with... and I must say I like your version. Also; great work on the shading and form. I love how the Dragon Diciple's look came out... very charismatic..... Frida Månsson Bergholtz replies: "Thank you very much. I think that a picture that doesnt tell a story isnt a very good picture. It is something I am working on getting better at. Elven ears can be tricky. This is a very old picture though and I think I have gotten alot better since then. Thanks for commenting." | |
| 8 Feb 2008 | Stephanie L. Barker | just love this one..the story line makes it even better | |
| 29 Jul 2008 | Ana Magalhaes | Lovely. I have a picture (not posted) very similar to this one, except it’s a father holding his daughter in his arms. I can’t post it now, people will say I copied it from you... . But this is lovely. | |
| 29 Jul 2008 | Ana Magalhaes | And the ears look fine... (some people are so picky) | |
